About
Gabriel Tick is an award-winning director and visual artist.
As a native New Yorker he spent the 90’s gaining influence in NYC’s downtown culture while taking classes as a teenager at SVA and Cooper Union.
In the early 2000’s, while earning his BFA from Parsons School of Design, Gabriel began working as an illustrator for apparel brands, record labels and animation productions.
In 2006, his work for the Dr. Octagon “Trees” Official Music Video aired on TRL. He spent the next decade working as a freelance artist and animator in Brooklyn, NY experimenting with traditional and digital media.
In 2015 he joined long time collaborator and close friend, Matt Schoen at VICE to oversee the creation of VICELAND, visually transforming the notorious magazine into a TV Network. During this time Gabriel and Matt also co-created VICE Visual Studios.
In 2021 Gabriel founded his independent creative studio, Studio Union which he oversees as owner and director.
Gabriel works from his studio mixing creativity and technology often with collaborators, on commissions, or personal projects.
